Fire Investigator
Florida Fire Investigator Requirements
To qualify for certification as a Fire Investigator, here are some of the state requirements:
- Be a certified firefighter, certified law enforcement officer, law enforcement crime scene technician (as evidenced by employment verification), or certified firesafety inspector.
- Satisfy the program requirement consisting of a minimum of 360 hours of training. (See below for courses offered by Embers Edge.)
- Complete the Fire Investigator Curriculum.
- ATPC 407 Arson Investigations
- ATPC2630 Latent Investigations
- ATPC2610 Origin and Cause
- ATPC2111 Fire Chemistry
- ATPC 1510 Private Fire Protection Systems 1
- ATPC2120 Building Construction for the Fire Service
- Complete the required task book.
- Pass a state written examination by 70% or higher.
