Fire Alarm Systems: Addressing False Alarms, System Reset, and Runner Service (4 CEUs)

Fire Alarms account for the majority of non-EMS related calls that firefighters encounter every shift. A working knowledge of the basic functions and operations of a fire alarm system can help during emergency and non-emergency calls. 
This 4 hour session will provide firefighters and fire officers with a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm systems, including the identification and management of false alarms, system reset procedures, and when to call for runner service. 
By the end of this course, participants will have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage fire alarm systems, including addressing false alarms, performing system resets, and engaging runner service for technical support.

Fire Final Inspections (6 CEUs)

This comprehensive training session is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct a thorough fire final inspection for the issuance of a certificate of occupancy. This 6 hour session covers a wide range of fire safety components, including the verification of permits and design documents, rough and underground inspections, and the evaluation of various fire protection and suppression systems. By the end of this training session participants will also learn to assess exits, egress pathways, and general safety practices to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Fire Plans Review Process (4 CEUs)

The Fire Plans Review Process Training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively review and interpret fire plans and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and building codes. This 4 hour session will provide participants with insights into the regulatory framework, types of plans reviewed, workflow processes, review criteria, collaborative approaches, common deficiencies, and best practices. By the end of this course, participants will have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively review fire plans, identify potential fire safety issues, and effectively propose solutions to stakeholders.

Fire Safety Inspector NFPA 1 and 101 (8 CEUs)

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students or current inspectors with the Florida Fire Prevention Code which includes NFPA 1 and 101. Students will  learn how to research the codes and apply them to inspection activities. Participants will review and calculate occupant loads and learn to navigate the code book.   This course provides 8-hours, or CEU’s, towards Florida Fire Code Administrator, Fire Safety Inspector Levels 1, 2, 3, and Fire Instructor Levels 1, 2, 3 certificate renewal. Florida Fire Prevention Code Book, eighth edition, is highly recommended in order to have full participation in the session.
